Advancing the Manufacturing Industry by applying New Technologies

research Opportunities to Advance Manufacturing - Industry 4.0

One of the main pillars of UGA Manufacturing Living Labs (UGA MLL) is RESEARCH. UGA MLL offers undergraduate students at the University of Georgia practical, hands-on experiences to foster deeper comprehension of the research process, equipping them with invaluable skills and insights essential for their future academic and professional pursuits. Graduate students, who chose to continue their education, are directed towards intellectual expansion, interdisciplinary partnerships, and innovation, cultivating skilled researchers and future leaders primed to drive advancements in academia, industry, and beyond.

Students at the University of Georgia College of Engineering focus on Industry 4.0, also known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Industry 4.0 signifies the era in manufacturing and other industries driven by the integration of technologies, such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Machine Learning, and more. Focusing on "smart" systems and processes, students and researchers are studying how to best apply new technologies, integrating systems, and using data-driven analysis to enable real-time data exchange for improvements in manufacturing and agricultural processing.
